Updating ASA for SurfControl E-mail Filter v5.x and v6.0

1. Download the Anti-Spam Agent update on to the same machine as SurfControl E-mail Filter by clicking on the links below.
2. Save the downloaded files in the SurfControl E-mail Filter program folder. This will overwrite the older files with the same filenames.
3. In the Windows registry, locate HKLM\Software\SurfControl plc\SuperScout Email Filter\Server. Make sure the RiskFilter Path key points to a file named ScoutRF.flt. If the RiskFilter path points to a different file, re-name that file to ScoutRF.flt.
4. Rename the scoutasa.flt file to ScoutRF.flt. This will overwrite the previous file with the same filename.
5. Stop and then restart the Rules Service.
6. The new Anti-Spam Agent components will now be used in rules. A confirmation of a successful update will appear in the Monitor. 
   Example: AntiSpamAgentPI Patterns File (date) Load OK.

• Digital Fingerprint update 
• Heuristics update 
• Lexirules update 
   
• Internet Threat database/URL Category List database (1 of 2)
• Internet Threat database/URL Category List database (2 of 2)
   
• Neural Net file update (1 of 2)
• Neural Net dictionary update (2 of 2)

(Note: For the Internet Threat database/URL Category List database and Neural Net Updates you must download and install BOTH update files.)

Updating ASA for SurfControl E-mail Filter v4.6 and v4.7

1. Download the Anti-Spam Agent update on to the same machine as SurfControl E-mail Filter by clicking on the link below. 
2. Save the ScoutASA.flt file in the SurfControl E-mail Filter program folder and rename it to ScoutRF.flt. This will overwrite the previous file with the same filename. 
3. Stop and then restart the Rules Service. 
   The new Anti-Spam Agent update will now be used in rules. A confirmation of a successful file update will appear in the Monitor. 
   Example: AntiSpamAgentPI Patterns File (date) Load OK.
